Soul Musings/Day 21: Offering

Solstice – the day with the least physical light. Darkness holding untold gifts that we have yet to unwrap.

Using this time of diminished light to explore the passages where breath moves. Reflecting our unique expression and offering to the world.

This darkness is a reminder of so often holding on to our fullness of Being, hiding it where no one can see. Yet serving as a gestational womb where it is the hand maiden of possibilities to birth.

Rest here and breathe as the inhale is brought forth from outside light submerging itself into the dark passages within….. and held for a moment on the sacred altar of a pause, until the exhale is birthed from the dark in ultimate surrender.

Aware there is no guarantee that breath will once again be taken in from the light we offer our life from the darkness….

“Too Sacred”
There is a private chamber in the soul
That knows the secret of which no tongue can speak
Your existence, Oh love…my dear, has been sealed and marked
“Too sacred, too sacred,” by the Beloved, to ever end!
Indeed, God has written a thousand promises
All over your heart that say
Life, life, life is far
Too sacred
To ever
End

~Hafiz

Inspiring New Possibilities, Living From the Soul of Life While Co-creating Well Being of Body, Being, Heart and Planet….One Breath At A Time

Soul Musings is a 31-day practice for the month of December immersed in deep listening to what is emerging and unfolding day by day.  Eight sentences with occasional resources to explore more deeply.

Each post, invited by Soul, allows the words to emerge unscathed from prior planning, editing, or censorship.  Dwelling in uncertainty and dipping a toe into mystery this union of words is an attempt to resonate within an innate way of Being…. returning “home”.

Soul Musings/Day 18: Sacred Patterns of Life

inspiration-turczyn
Infinite Inspiration

All around and within us lies the beauty and sacred patterns of life. Within this we discover the fullness and resonance of who we are.”

Gaye Abbott from Give Us This Day Our Daily Breath

The strands of our DNA, the cornea of our eye, snow flakes, pine cones, fower petals, diamond crystals, the branching of trees, water crystals, a nautilus shell, the star we spin around, the galaxy we spiral within, the air we breathe, and life forms as we know them emerge out of timeless geometric codes or geometrical archetypes.

Spending an entire afternoon exploring sacred geometry one day, I was lead to what seemed like spirals of understanding as I delved deeper into the patterns of life. It makes sense that even our breath is moving in patterns that support sacred design and breathing space to thrive in.

If this is so, then I wonder if we place ourselves in architecture built upon the patterns of sacred geometry and immerse ourselves in visionary art.

Create gardens that reflect back to us the fabric of our Being.

And seek out practices that open and align us with our deepest knowing and awareness of these geometric archetypes.

That the mystery of life will reveal more to us.

Illuminating the fullness and resonance of who we are.

Breath Taking Flight

1958430_10152290237555730_1071580060_n

Have you ever simply watched and felt a bird taking flight….being present to every nuance of wing, body, air, sound….those precious moments just before the launch?  Swept with awe at this natural way to travel from one place to the next could be so filled with grace and strength.

Inhale remembering that this is natures way of receiving the best of what the body needs…..like a bird preparing for flight taking in everything that will sustain it during lift off…expanding soft belly, ribcage and back body ….resting in the pause to take it all in…..exhaling into pure fluid motion, lengthening as if the breath is soaring on a cushion of air that always promises to be there for the next inhale after the pregnant pause.

How much we take for granted with simply breathing from one moment to the next of our lives here.  Taking the wisdom of Thich Nhat Hanh when he says, “smile, breathe and go slowly” into the fullness of any single moment and falling into the rapture of a full breath in flight – ease filled, fluid and resting in the biology of what gives life.

Take this moment now and be deeply grateful for your breath as the inhale slowly prepares for launch, pauses in the up sweep of expanded wings, soars on the exhale, and drops back to Earth during the grounded pause.  Breathing meditation.  Who wouldn’t smile…..?

Drink In The Breath

Drink in the magnificent world that has been given to you.

Take a full breath and know that this very inspiration

could be the one that the Amazon rain forest, or the tree outside of your window

has gifted to you

from a deep interconnection that yearns to remain unbroken.

(South America) - Amazon

Drink in another full breath and know that every single thing that is alive now,

and has existed before this moment in time

shares this rich resource with you.

Sip the nectar of your next in breath and be grateful for the very act of breathing

for it is the Source that keeps you alive

within this miracle of embodiment.

Now,  as you let down your defenses

and dismantle the timbers of your protection,

allow the exhale to slip  from your body

unimpeded as a flow of water

leaping off the edge of the cliff side

falling into the depths of the pool below

instantly connecting with the elements

that create life – your life.

Nourishing the soul of being….

How you breathe is the way in which you live your life.  If this statement is true, then how would you like to breathe?  Shallow and restricted or full bodied and naturally?

Use a focus each week for the entire year to promote the vibrant aliveness that is your natural birth right!

The Breath Pause Between Ubuntu and Namaste

unityUbuntu does indeed feel like a Unity word!  Take a moment to feel it as your mouth creates the sounds that bring the word to life.  It is flowing, connected and literally feels like a way of life.  My body wants to dance with this word. Dancing to the sound of drums – the beat of our hearts – uniting us in every breath moment.  Taking it all in INHALE!

Nelson Mandela states that Ubuntu asks the question:  “Will you do something to engage the community around you to improve?”  As our global community becomes smaller and smaller in the sense of communication and interrelatedness this indeed is the question of our day.

What action can you take today in your own community – within you own being –  that will most certainly affect others beyond your geographical location merely by the respect, human kindness, caring, trust, unselfishness, love, and sharing that you are actively demonstrating?

Meeting each other in Ubuntu we may find that the most embodied response is Namaste.  Two hands at our hearts toNamaste_silk acknowledge all that we are, bowing to all that another is, whether that other be human, animal, plant or a vision that brings us closer together as a global community.

This gesture resonates with Ubuntu on a very deep and profound level.  It recognizes that the life force, the divinity, the Self or the God in me is the same in all.

It also reminds us of the deep interconnectedness between all life forms.  What is done to another all can feel.  What is said by one can be heard by all.  What one creates sparks creation by others.  What stillness is felt in one becomes the sacred in another.  And it goes on….EXHALE….

The breath pause between Ubuntu and Namaste is called collaboration.  A deep collective determination to co-create and realize a shared goal, vision or significant change in current systems or structures.

Namaste_smWe are at the crossroads in a time when we must take action to shift our consciousness from one of separation, judgement, misdirected power, war and blame to one of connectedness, sharing, co-creation, peace, understanding and love.

Already so many across the planet are breathing in from the place of Ubuntu and breathing out Namaste.  Will you be one of them?  INHALE/Ubuntu….PAUSE IN COLLABORATION….EXHALE/Namaste
